Every second Sunday of May, we celebrate a day that can never truly capture all that it means to be a mother. Still, we try—through flowers, hugs, cards, and quiet thank-yous. But this Mother’s Day, I wanted to write something deeper. Something that speaks to the soul of every mother, especially those walking the path alone, like me.
To the mothers who rise before the sun to prepare meals, get their kids ready, and somehow show up for work with a smile—this is your day.
To the single moms holding everything together with love, late-night prayers, and budget lists scribbled on old receipts—this is your day.
To the grandmothers, aunts, sisters, and mother figures who stepped into the role without hesitation—this is your day.
To the moms who carry invisible grief, who have lost a child or a mother—your strength is honored today, too.
This journey isn’t easy. Motherhood is messy, exhausting, and full of sacrifices no one ever sees. But it is also magical. It’s in the tiny hands reaching for yours, in the soft “I love you, Mama” whispered at bedtime, and in the pride you feel when your child learns something new.
Today, I look at my daughter, Amalia, and I know that every tear, every sleepless night, and every hard decision was worth it. She is my reason, my light, and my daily reminder that love—real, unconditional love—is the most powerful force there is.
So to all mothers reading this: breathe in today. Let yourself feel proud. Let yourself be celebrated. You deserve it—not just on Mother’s Day, but every single day.
From my heart to yours,
Crestine
